The PEC Octet Challenge - Watch Out World!

Janet Eisan's picture

When Wendy Gibson, chief PEC cheerleader, challenged chorus members to perform as an octet at January AIM she was as surprised as anyone at what happened. Many of us rose to the occasion and represented PEC with not one but four different octets! What fun we all had coming up with a theme, choosing music and costumes, and rehearsing, rehearsing, rehearsing!

There was SpellBound comprised of wicked witches and fairy princesses singing a parody of Little Help From My Friends and Sisters. 8th Notes delighted with their colorful, rainbow inspired ponchos and umbrellas and beautiful singing of Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head and April Showers. Dressed in “Pink Ladies” bomber jackets circa 1950, The Ringtones took audience members down memory lane with their Boyfriend Medley and Cuddle Up. And last but certainly not least, Audience Choice winner, The Dairy Queens, made us laugh while moo moo mooing their way into our hearts with Diet Riot and Who’s Sorry Now.

Many of us had so much fun getting a small taste of what quartet work might be like that we will be continuing to learn and sing new material. Watch out World!
