Red, White and Blues

Greetings from the Pacific Empire Chorus. Whether you’re performing out in the community, learning new songs, or preparing for competition, we hope you are all having a productive and fun summer. We sure are. On July 1st, we were lucky enough to be part of the entertainment at San Rafael’s Marin County Fair! We rocked the Three Twins Ice Cream Stage giving a rousing performance right in time for Independence Day. We entertained the audience with everything from Carole King’s “I Feel the Earth Move” to “With A Little Help from my Friends” by the Beatles. The crowd really got going during our rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered”, with many fair goers dancing and singing right along with us. Two of our quartets also performed. The Stevens Sisters took us down memory lane with their crisp, clean singing and Vocal Ventures kept it local with their version of “San Francisco Bay Blues.” We ended our set with a stirring performance of “America, the Beautiful” celebrating the diverse and stunning area (and country) we are lucky enough to call home. In addition to more community performances in August we are looking forward to coaching from Awesome Joe Connelly and learning new songs for our ‘60s show to be held November 12. We can’t wait to see you all at Pep Rally in September. Until then, enjoy the rest of the lazy, hazy days of summer.
