The Denver Sweet Adelines International Competition was a Rocky Mountain high for members of Pacific Empire Chorus' singing sisterhood. Coming home with medals for 2nd place in Division AA (1st place in the United States, second only to Western Canada's Westcoast Harmony Chorus), was a thrill that will not soon be forgotten. PEC was prepared and poised and all 54 singers on stage did their job in award winning style. The chorus actually had the highest scores on the Sound and Showmanship judging categories, winning applause from the audience and admiration from peers.

Denver proved to be a gracious host city for the Sweet Adeline singers, who had a little time to explore the historic downtown area and beautiful environs. PEC members thought it was an awesome experience to perform in the Pepsi Center arena, as do Denver's professional sports teams. Then again, where else would top international competitors be performing? In the Mile High City, PEC scaled the heights and came away with a lofty prize and mountains of memories!
